10 Thousand Rupees will be Given for Youth Tourism Activities in Government Schools

Why In News?

On May 30, 2023, Tourism and Culture Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Jaiveer Singh told that in every district of the state, tourism-related activities will be started in Government Intermediate Schools, Government Degree College, Navodaya Vidyalaya, Kendriya School, Shramik School (Atal) and Kasturba Gandhi Vidyalaya etc. Financial assistance of Rs 10,000 will be provided for its operation.

• Tourism and Culture Minister Jaiveer Singh said that in the new tourism policy-2022, this strategy has been made to connect youth with tourism and conduct tourism activities through them.
• He informed that financial assistance would be provided to an educational institution only once a year. This amount will be given to a maximum of 10 such clubs in a circle in a year on the recommendation of the District Magistrate of the concerned district.
• To promote youth tourism in the state, Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, National Service Scheme, NCC, Bharat Scouts and Guides, Yuvak Mangal Dal and Mahila Mangal Dal, etc. organise youth tourism activities by organizing youth tourism activities. Will be done.

200 People will be able to sit together & watch 3D & 2D Shows in Patna's New Planetarium

According to the information received from the media on 31 May 2023, the people of Patna (capital of Bihar) will soon get an opportunity to see and understand the cosmic world on a 3D screen in the new auditorium of the planetarium, under which 200 people will be able to sit together and watch 3D and 2D shows.

Key Points:

• American 3D screens and German 3D projectors have been installed in the planetarium. The show will be aired for viewers in the third week of June.
• Four films have been selected for the 3D show by the department. Along with this, eight films of 2D have been selected.
• Viewers will also be provided with an active 3D glass worth around Rs 700 to watch the 3D show in the planetarium. After the show, all viewers will have to submit an active 3D glass.
• The planetarium will showcase world-class films on the solar system to the audience through six digital 3D projectors.
• At present, the work of floor fabrication and seating arrangement has been started in the planetarium. The modernization work of the planetarium is being done at a cost of about Rs 34 crore. The laser projector in the planetarium will mix RGB rays through a computer to create real colours for the 3D show.
• Along with this, a 3D sound system has also been developed for the audience, which will make the audience feel like reaching the galaxy through background sound.
• These four 3D films were selected:
  • Astroy Mission: In this, the audience will be given information about the structure of the asteroid and its effect on mankind.
  • VR Stars: In addition to giving information about the origin and evolution of stars, the audience will be shown the internal structure of the stars.
  • Voyager Mission: In this, detailed information about the Voyager mission will be given. Along with this, exciting pictures of Jupiter and Saturn will be shown.
  • Space Next: In this film, the audience will be told in detail about the space journey.
• Viewers will be able to book tickets for the 2D & 3D shows running in the planetarium. An E-ticketing facility will be provided to the people for the audience by the planetarium management. In addition to e-tickets, manual tickets will also be provided to the audience. A total of eight shows will be run for the audience in a day. There will be four 2D & four 3D shows.
• The rate of the ticket has also been fixed by the department. For children up to 14 years of age, the ticket price for 2D shows will be Rs 50 and for 3D shows, it will be Rs 60. For those above 14 years of age, the ticket price will be Rs 80 for 2D shows and Rs 100 for 3D shows. Apart from this, a fee of Rs 10 and Rs 20 will be kept for the group of school children.

New Civil Enclaves will be Built at Purnia and Darbhanga Airports

• On May 30, 2023, in the meeting of the Council of Ministers chaired by Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, MoU was approved between the Airports Authority of India and the Government of Bihar for the construction of new civil enclaves in Darbhanga and Purnea .

• With the construction of the airport in Purnea, not only Seemanchal and Kosi but also the population of crores of 10 surrounding districts will get the direct benefit of the airport. People will not have to go to Bagdogra for flights. With the opening of the airport, the development of the district will double.

Decisions of the Council of Ministers headed by the Chief Minister

  • In these, a total of 18 percent maximum assistance of Rs 18 lakh will be given on funding/investment received by start-ups established by SC/ST entrepreneurs and a maximum of Rs 72 lakh in four phases.
  • In start-ups promoted by SC/ST entrepreneurs, their participation should be 51 percent.
• The cabinet sanctioned Rs 266 crore 71 lakh for the construction works on the recommendation of the Project Examination Committee for setting up a new medical college in Damoh.
  • With this decision, tertiary-level medical facilities will be available to the people of Damoh and nearby districts. Along with this, 100 MBBS in the medical field for the students of the state. There will also be an increase in the number of seats.
• The cabinet post-facto approved the order of the Forest Department to increase the compensation amount from Rs 4 lakh to Rs 8 lakh for loss of life and loss of animals caused by wild animals.
• In order to provide financial assistance to the needy litterateurs and artists of the state in case of long and serious illness, accident, divine calamity and death, the scheme 'Artist Welfare Fund', run in the Department of Culture, has been modified and the new ' Approved to issue 'Madhya Pradesh Artist Welfare Fund Rules-2023'.
  • In the earlier scheme, there was a provision to provide assistance ranging from Rs.500 to Rs.5000 to the needy litterateurs and artists of the state in case of serious illness, accident, natural calamity and death.
  • The amount to be sanctioned on the recommendation of the competent committee formed in the new scheme ranges from a minimum of 25 thousand to a maximum of 1 lakh rupees, in which, in case of death of the artist/literate, his successor will get a maximum of one lakh and a maximum of 50 thousand for medical treatment.   • A maximum of one lakh rupees can be given to a physically challenged artist/writer for the treatment of disability. Jharkhand Cabinet approved 39 Proposals

Why in News?

• On 31 May 2023, the state cabinet met under the chairmanship of Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, in which a total of 39 proposals were approved with the approval of the increase in various allowances of panchayat public representatives of the state.

• After the cabinet approved the increase in the honorarium of panchayat public representatives, now the district council president will get 2 thousand rupees, the head will get 8 thousand rupees and the head of the village will get 2 thousand rupees every month. Their daily allowances have also been increased from Rs 150 to Rs 250 for each post.
• Women representatives of ST, SC, Extremely Backward Class and other classes, who are below the poverty line, will get a special honorarium of Rs 150 instead of Rs 100. The travel allowance has also been revised. All will now get a travel allowance at the rate of Rs 10 per km instead of Rs 5 per km.
• The Cabinet has increased the amount of compensation in case of damage to life, property, crops, pets and houses by wild animals in the state. In case of the death of a person in such incidents, only four lakh rupees will be given as before.
• In case of severe injuries, Rs 4.50 lakh will be given instead of Rs 1 lakh, in case of minor injuries, Rs 25,000 instead of Rs 15,000 and in case of permanent disability, Rs 3.25 lakh instead of Rs 2 lakh. In case of damage to the house, the earlier Rs 1 lakh was given, which has been increased to Rs 1.20 lakh.

CM transferred the amount of the 'Unemployment Allowance Scheme'

Why in News?

• On 31 May 2023, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel transferred an amount of Rs 32 crore 35 lakh 25 thousand to the account of 1,05,395 beneficiaries of the 'Unemployment Allowance Scheme' in a program organized at his residence office.

Key Points:

• Out of these, 66,185 beneficiaries, who were released the first instalment in the month of April, were released an amount of Rs 16 crore 54 lakh 62 thousand 500 as the second instalment today.
• An amount of Rs 12.75 crore was released as an instalment of unemployment allowance for both the months of April and May to 24,015 beneficiaries who had applied till 30 April 2023.
• Similarly an amount of Rs 3 crore 79 lakh 87 thousand 500 was released as the first instalment to 15,195 beneficiaries who had applied in May 2023.
• A total amount of Rs 48 crore 89 lakh 87 thousand 500 has been released as the first and second instalments to the beneficiaries of the unemployment allowance scheme.
• It is known that 39 percent of those receiving unemployment allowance are women, 61 percent are men, 83 percent are rural and 17 percent are urban beneficiaries.
• It is worth mentioning that the Chief Minister has started this scheme to give allowance to the unemployed candidates of Chhattisgarh, which has come into effect from 1 April 2023. Under this scheme, it is mandatory for the candidate to pass at least the 12th examination and must have registered for the last 2 years in the employment office. An income certificate is required.
• Under this scheme, the educated youth eligible for unemployment allowance will be given unemployment allowance for one year first. If a particular person is not able to get gainful employment in the said period of one year, then the period of unemployment allowance can be extended for one more year. In any case, this period shall not exceed two years.
• Eligibility criteria in the scheme-
  • Must be a native of Chhattisgarh
  • Age must be 18 - 35 years as of 1st April
  • Should have passed 12th exam
  • Has 2-year-old employment registration on April 1
  • Annual income should not exceed Rs. 2,50,000/-
• Conditions of ineligibility in the scheme-
  • Only one member from a family
  • Families of former & current ministers, assembly members, mayors, urban bodies, district panchayat presidents
  • Family members of government employees (except Class IV or Group-D employees)
  • Families of pensioners with a monthly pension of Rs 10,000 or more
  • Income tax payer family
  • Families of professionals like engineers, doctors, lawyers, chartered accountants etc.

Cabinet approves setting up of new Chakrata Township

• According to the information received from the media on 31 May 2023, the Uttarakhand Cabinet has approved the proposal to set up the new Chakrata Township of Dehradun district.
