UPSC Interview Marks Trend 2025

The personality test plays a crucial role in the final result. From the marksheet data:

  • Many top candidates scored 200+ marks in the interview.
  • The highest interview marks among top ranks reached around 215.
  • Even candidates with slightly lower written marks improved their rank through strong interview performance.

This highlights the importance of balanced preparation for both Mains and Interview.

What’s Next for Aspirants?

The release of marks provides invaluable data for future aspirants to understand scoring trends. Analyzing the gap between written totals and personality test marks helps in refining preparation strategies for the upcoming cycles.

For many candidates, the final list may have been missed by a narrow margin. While that can feel discouraging, it also provides clear insight into where improvement is needed. With a focused strategy and the right guidance, the next attempt can become a stronger one.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

1: When will the marks for candidates who did not qualify for the Interview be released? +

The UPSC typically releases the marks for all candidates (those who qualified for the Interview and those who did not) simultaneously. You can check your marks using your Roll Number and Date of Birth on the official website now that the marksheet link is active.

2: Why am I unable to see my marks despite appearing for the 2025 Interview? +

If you also appeared for the Indian Forest Service (IFoS) Examination, your marksheet will be withheld by the Commission until the final results of the IFoS cycle are declared. This is a standard administrative procedure to maintain the integrity of the ongoing recruitment process.

3: What is the maximum possible score in the UPSC Civil Services Examination? +

The total marks are calculated out of 2025. This includes:

  • Written (Main) Examination: 1750 marks (7 papers of 250 marks each).
  • Personality Test (Interview): 275 marks.
4: Is there a provision for re-evaluation or re-counting of marks in the UPSC Main exam?
+

No. According to UPSC rules, there is no provision for re-evaluation of answer scripts. However, candidates can apply for re-totaling of marks within a specific window (usually 30 days from the release of marks) by paying the prescribed fee.

5: How long will the marksheet be available on the UPSC website? +

Marksheets are typically available on the official portal for a period of 30 days from the date of publication. It is highly recommended that candidates download and save a PDF copy for their future records.
