Rajasthan Launches e‑Swasthya Samvad

Why in News?

The Rajasthan government has launched a digital health communication initiative called ‘e‑Swasthya Samvad’.

Key Points

• e-Swasthya Samvad: It is a digital dialogue and video-conferencing platform established by the Medical Education Department.
• Objective: To strengthen governance, transparency and coordination in the state’s medical education and health services.
• Leadership: The initiative has been introduced under the direction of Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma.
• Mode of Operation: The dialogue sessions will be held twice a week via video conferencing. 
• Two‑Phase Discussion: Sessions are conducted in two phases – first with senior officials and department heads, and second with broader stakeholders and the public.
• Accountability: Officials are required to submit action taken reports within 72 hours. 

President Takes Submarine Sortie in Karnataka

Why in News?

President Droupadi Murmu undertook a historic submarine sortie onboard the Indian Navy’s indigenous submarine INS Vaghsheer at the Karwar Naval Base in Karnataka.

Key Points

• Second President: She became the second Indian President to undertake such a submarine sortie (first was Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam in 2006).
• Indigenous Submarine: INS Vaghsheer is part of the Project‑75 Scorpene programme and is one of the Indian Navy’s indigenously built diesel‑electric submarines. 
• Accompanied by Naval Chief: The President was accompanied by Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Dinesh K. Tripathi.
• Maritime Security Focus: The sortie reflects India’s emphasis on maritime defence preparedness and the importance of submarines in securing the Indian Ocean Region.
