Why in News

• On July 27, 2021, the Rajasthan government started Mukhyamantri Group Marriage and Grant Scheme 2021 to reduce wastage in marriages and encourage mass marriages in the state.

Key Points

• Under this, the organization, application and payment of mass marriage has been simplified and made online, with the aim of giving maximum benefit to the beneficiaries and the organizing institutions.
• About:
  
  • The application (for getting permission to organize marriage) to be made at least 15 days before the date of marriage should be done online instead of offline.
  • Time for marriage registration increased from 15 days to 60 days.
  • The period for submission of bank account details by brides has been reduced from 15 days to 60 days.
• An IFMS (Integrated Financial Management System) to be used for the transfer of Rs. 10 thousand to the bride's account on the day of marriage and later an amount of Rs. 5 thousand on production of the marriage registration certificate and other documents within a period of 60 days.
• Dispute redressal at the district collector level for speedy disposal of issues.
