Why In News?

• On November 17, 2022, Jharkhand's Sports Director Sarojini Lakra inaugurated the 'Khelo India Women's Wushu League' at Thakur Vishwanath Shahdev Indoor Stadium, Mega Sports Complex, Ranchi in the state.

Key Points

• On this occasion, Sarojini Lakra said that the Jharkhand government is providing all possible support to the players. He also inspired women to recognize their power.
• Around 700 players and officials from Rajasthan, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Chhattisgarh and host Jharkhand are participating in the event.
• It is worth mentioning that the gold medal winners in this competition will be given a total prize of Rs 45 lakh.
