Rajasthan State Conclave

Why In News?

• The Rajasthan State Conclave was organized by Electronics and Computer Export Promotion Council (ESC) and Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) on September 14, 2022, with the initiative of Rajasthan Information Technology and Communication Department.

Key Points

• About 150 startups, entrepreneurs and dignitaries from ESC, STPI and state government officials participated in the programme.
• The objective of this conference is to set the stage for Startup Summits - Building the Next Unicorn and ensure that tech startups, entrepreneurs and government departments are aware of this initiative by Electronics and Computer Export Promotion Council and Software Technology Parks of India.
• Out of the 48 innovative tech startups selected during the conference, startups competed for state-level shortlisting before their jury members, with the top 5 startups being awarded certificates.
• Startups selected from the state conclave will be invited to join the final round of selection by an eminent jury panel at the national conclave.
• The selected startups will be provided travel grants for USA and prefixed meetings with USA investors and venture capital lists, besides networking with global technology startups in USA.

Buyer-Seller Meet Organized in Collaboration with State and Central Government

Why In News?

• A buyer-seller meet (buyer-seller meet) was organized on September 14, 2022 in collaboration with the state and central government. Artisans displayed handicraft and handloom products of national and international repute in the conference. During this LOI of about Rs.3 crore was also signed.

Key Points

• Industries Commissioner Mahendra Kumar Parakh said that such programs boost the morale of the artists. At the same time, it also helps the seller to plan his products better.
• He said that there are 80 such sectors in the state which are manufacturing various handicraft products. The handicrafts provide employment to the local people. This is the first such effort in the state, it will be conducted more actively.
• Sunita Dabra, additional secretary, DIPT, central government, said this is the department's third attempt. Such events provide a good platform to buyers and sellers.
• At the conference, experts gave detailed information about the GeM portal to the participants and how to take advantage of it. During this time, representatives of Authentic GI told the artisans about the benefits of GI of the products and how the GI tag is taken.
