Why in News?

• On May 11, 2022, a spokesman of the Government of Uttar Pradesh said that the state's first tribal museum 'Tharu Tribal Museum' has been completed in the Tharu populated village of Imilia Kodar in Balrampur district.

Key Points

• The museum focusing on the vibrant and diverse culture and way of life of the Tharu tribe is spread over 5.5 acres .
• All information about the Tharu tribe will be available in this museum. It will cover a wide variety of details, from their development to their life in contemporary times. Apart from this, the museum will also throw light on their culture, religion, tradition, lifestyle and social life.
• On the lines of the Tribal Museum built in Balrampur, the State Government has also prepared an action plan to establish Tribal Museum in Lucknow, Sonbhadra and Lakhimpur Kheri.
• Apart from this, a museum for children will also be built in Kannauj district.
• The Department of Culture has also proposed the construction of a gallery based on the story of freedom ‘Azadi Ki Gauravgatha’ i.e. Glorification of Independence' in the Government Archives, Lucknow.
• Significantly, Tharu tribe lives in the Terai part of Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh. It is one of the most advanced tribes of Uttar Pradesh. A festival called Bajhar is celebrated by them.
• To provide education to the Tharu tribe, a college has been established by the Uttar Pradesh government at Lakhimpur Kheri.

65 National-Level Medal-Winning Sportspersons from Rajasthan Get Out-of-turn Appointment

Why in News?

• On May 11, 2022, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot approved the proposal for the out-of-turn appointment of 65 national level medal winners of the state.

Key Points

• Out of these medal winning players, 46 have been given out-of-turn appointments to the post of Clerk Grade-II, 14 to the post of Forester, 3 to the post of Excise Guard and 2 to the post of Constable.
• As per the proposal, these national level medal winners have been allotted departments proportionately according to their first preference under the Rajasthan Out of Turn Appointment to Sports Medal Winner Rules, 2017.
• It is noteworthy that the players who have the qualification of post-graduation or graduation along with being gold medalists have been given appointment in the Government Secretariat and Rajasthan Public Service Commission according to their first preference.
• With this approval of the Chief Minister, it will be easy for the players to work in the state service as well as continue their sports activities smoothly.

Shri Mahakal Maharaj Temple Complex Expansion Project

Why in News?

• On May 11, 2022, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, in a review meeting to review the works of Shri Mahakal Maharaj Temple Complex Expansion Project, directed to complete the works of the first phase of the project by May 20.

Key Points

• Chief Minister directed to complete the works with more than 90 percent but less than 100 percent physical progress in a week.
• Presently the works of Narsinghghat pumping station and pipeline (Kshipra river to Rudrasagar), sewer line in Rudrasagar catchment area, attractive lighting and sound system for Shri Mahakaleshwar temple complex have been completed.
• Significantly, the Mahakaleshwar temple of Ujjain is one of the 12 famous Jyotirlingas in India. Under the Shri Mahakal Maharaj Temple Complex Expansion Project, the expansion of the complex and other work is being done. After the expansion, the temple area will increase by eight times to 23.05 hectares.

First Tetrapack Plant To Be Set Up in Rohtak

Why in News?

• On May 11, 2022, Haryana's Cooperation Minister Dr. Banwari Lal informed that Haryana's first Tetrapack plant for packing liquid milk, fruit juices and fermented milk products would be set up in Rohtak.

Key Points

• This plant, which will be set up at a cost of Rs 125 crore, will enable long-term storage of liquid products and keep them safe. Rohtak Vita Plant currently has a production capacity of 4.5 lakh liters per day.
• Dr. Banwari Lal, after laying the foundation stone of butter deep freezer to be set up at a cost of Rs 5.5 crore at Vita Plant, Rohtak, said that one thousand metric tonnes of butter can be saved due to the installation of butter deep freezer for white butter storage in Vita plant.
• This plant supplies milk, Vita Ghee, Vita Butter, Curd, Namkeen Lassi, Buttermilk, Paneer and Barfi etc. as well as Vita Ghee and Milk to the Indian Army and children under Mid-Day-Mid Meal, Anganwadi Scheme and Sports Schemes. To meet the milk demand of the players, sweet flavored milk powder is also being supplied.
• A target has also been set to establish a new SFSMP plant in this plant at a cost of Rs 4 crore.
• On this occasion, he also informed that along with sugar, jaggery and sugar are being produced in Palwal, Kaithal and Meham cooperative sugar mills. At the same time, an ethanol plant has been started at Shahabad Sugar Mill.

MoU For Geo-Technical Evaluation Project of Bauxite Reserves of Chhattisgarh

Why in News?

• An MoU was signed on May 11, 2022 between Chhattisgarh Council of Science and Technology (SECOST), Raipur and Jawaharlal Nehru Aluminum Research, Development and Design Center (JNARDDC), Ministry of Minerals, Government of India for the project 'Geotechnical Evaluation of Bauxite Deposits of Chhattisgarh'.

Key Points

• The MoU was signed by Dr. S. Karmakar, Director General, Chhattisgarh Council of Science and Technology and Regional Science Center and Dr. Anupam Agnihotri, Director, JNARDDC.
• Under the MoU, both the institutes will prepare a district-wise digital database of laterite and bauxite storage using geo-referenced maps and geotechnical assessment of bauxite and laterite deposits located in Chhattisgarh with the help of space technology.
• This project will be very useful for the aluminum industry facing shortage of good grade raw ore (Bauxite) and bauxite miners and industries using aluminum in various forms and processes.
• Apart from the entrepreneurs dealing in bauxite and laterite ores, the existing mine owners and bauxite industries located in Chhattisgarh and Central India will also be benefited.
• The database obtained from the state's new entrepreneurs remote sensing and GIS can be used in any existing mineral, aluminum industry.
