Cooperative Societies will be Formed with Priority in Gram Panchayats that fulfil the Prescribed Criteria

Why In News?

On February 2, 2023, Cooperative Minister of Rajasthan, Uday Lal Anjana told that the Gram Panchayat which fulfills the minimum number of members including 300 and other criteria and deposits the share amount of Rs 3 lakh, There Village Service Cooperative Society (GSS) will be formed on priority.

Key points

• Cooperative Minister Uday Lal Anjana said that efforts are being made by the state government to form cooperative societies in each gram panchayat. GSS The prescribed criteria for the formation of the organization are minimum number of members 300, share amount Rs 3 lakh, deposit amount Rs 1 lakh and Rs 75 thousand for lamps.
• He said that action is taken to form new Village Service Co-operative Societies as per rules on fulfilling the above prescribed criteria and receiving the proposal including the recommendation of the District Level Committee.
• The Cooperation Minister informed that there are a total of 71 Gram Panchayats in Vallabh Nagar Assembly constituency, out of which Village Service Co-operative Society is yet to be formed in 38 Gram Panchayats.
• He informed that under the budget announcement for the year 2022-23, new GSS will be formed in the remaining 4171 gram panchayats of the state in the next two years. Under this announcement, the remaining gram panchayats of Vallabh Nagar assembly constituency will also be filled with new G.G. S. S will be installed.
