CM launches Agriculture Drone Solution, Animal Operated Cultivator and Planter

Why In News?

  • On July 28, 2022, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel launched the Complete Agriculture Drone Solution, Animal Operated Battery Operated Cultivator and Planter in a program organized on the occasion of the first festival of Chhattisgarh 'Hareli' at village Karsa in Patan block of Durg district.

Key Points

  • The medicine can be sprayed within half an hour in 4 acres of fields through agriculture drones. Normally a farmer takes 3 hours for 1 acre for this. The amount of medicine can also be determined through the machine.
  • There is also a problem in getting labor for spraying in rural areas. Through this, the farmers will also save time and the income of the groups will also increase.
  • Along with the agriculture drone solution, there will also be an agri ambulance, which will also have the facility of agriculture lab. In this, farmers will be able to do soil testing etc. It will have full facilities for farming and farming. There will also be availability of organic manure.
  • It is noteworthy that it will work on PPP model. Work can be done through one machine in 20 villages. This will be done by the working group. Only the youth of the group will be trained to operate the drone. The members of the group will be technically proficient in this. With this, they will get enough time for other livelihood activities apart from farming.
  • On this occasion, the Chief Minister also launched two types of agricultural machines – animal operated battery operated cultivator and planter, made by the scientists of Agricultural Engineering College, operated under Indira Gandhi Agricultural University.
  • According to agricultural experts, the use of these machines will reduce the time spent by the farmers in agricultural work, as well as reduce the cost. The use of battery operated cultivators and planters will also reduce the burden on animals.
  • Animal operated battery operated cultivator for secondary tillage can solve the problem of farmers. With the help of this cultivator, 1 hectare of field can be ploughed secondary once in 5-7 hours. With this, while the cattle will have to put less force, the farmer can also easily operate the entire machine by sitting on the seat. The cost of this entire device is about 55-60 thousand rupees.
  • With the help of animal operated battery operated planters, the queued seed-to-seed can be sown while maintaining a distance. The distance between the queue-to-row to this planter is 20 to 50 cm according to the crop. You can organize up to. The cost of the planter is about 20-25 thousand rupees.

Cow Urine Procurement Scheme

Why In News?

  • On July 28, 2022, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel formally launched the 'Cow Urine Purchase Scheme' by buying cow urine at a function organized on the occasion of 'Hareli', the first festival of Chhattisgarh, at village Karsa in Patan Vikaskhand of Durg district.

Key Points

  • Chhattisgarh is the first state in the country, which after purchasing cow dung from villagers for Rs. 2 per kg, is now purchasing cow urine for Rs. 4 a liter.
  • It may be mentioned that the 'Godhan Nyaya Yojana' in Chhattisgarh started from the day of Hareli festival on July 20, 2020. Under this, cow dung is being procured at the rate of Rs.2 per kg from the pastoral villagers in the cowsheds.
  • The unmatched success of large-scale manufacture and use of organic manure through the purchase of cow dung across the country has become the basis for the purchase of cow urine.
  • The objective of the purchase of cow urine is to create organic pesticides, bio-germs, growth promoters from it in the gothas so that organic pesticides can be made easily available to the farmers of the state at a lower price. The motive behind this is also to reduce the toxicity of foodgrain production as well as to reduce the cost of cultivation.
  • Now, organic pesticides will be prepared from it through women's groups by purchasing cow urine in the gothans, which will be made available to the farmers at a concessional rate. The price of these organic pesticides will be much lower than the price of the expensive chemical pesticide pesticide pesticide available in the market.
  • Agricultural scientists say that cow urine pesticides are a better and cheaper alternative to chemical pesticides. Its immunity is several times higher than that of a chemical pesticide. Its spraying in the fields helps in the control of all kinds of pests. The use of cow urine pesticides is more effective against leaf-eating, fruit incision and stem-piercing insects. Its use is also better for agro-environment and health.
  • It is worth mentioning that on the initiative of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, under the 'Garwa' component of 'Suraji Gaon Yojana', Gothans are built and operated in 8408 villages of the state, where there is free provision of fodder and water for the care of animals. In these Gothans, cow dung is being procured for the last two years under 'Godhan Nyay Yojana', through which women's groups are preparing organic fertilizers and other products.
  • Over 76 lakh quintals of cow dung has been procured in the state in the last two years, in lieu of which an amount of more than Rs. 153 crore has been paid to rural cattle farmers. Women's groups have so far produced more than 22 lakh quintals of Vermicompost, Super Compost, Super Compost Plus from the purchase of cow dung and made it available to the farmers of the state for use in agriculture.
  • Apart from manufacturing organic manure from cow dung in Gothans, women are also carrying out other oriented activities, which have earned them an additional income of Rs. 74 crore in the last two years.
  • Organic farming in the state will be further boosted by the preparation of organic manure as well as organic pesticides by the women's group in the gothas. This will provide additional income to the pastoral villagers and employment and income to women's groups.

Mukhya Mantri Mahtari Nyay Rath

Why In News?

  • On July 28, 2022, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel flagged off the 'Mukhya Mantri Mahtari Nyaya Rath' from his residence complex on the occasion of 'Hareli'. The Nyaya Rath will make women aware of their rights and laws.

Key Points

  • On the initiative of the Chhattisgarh State Commission for Women, this Nyaya Rath Yatra has been launched with the objective of making the women of the state aware of their constitutional rights and laws and to build confidence in them.
  • The journey began with the phrase 'The matter of honoring the female mind of pride'.
  • The Mukhya Mantri Mahtari Nyay Rath Yatra will be conducted through the State Commission for Women. The rath will travel from village to village in all the districts to make people aware of the legal provisions and their constitutional rights through short films, messages and brochures.
  • In the first phase, the Mukhya Mantri Mahtari Nyay Rath will go to nine districts of Durg, Raipur, Rajnandgaon, Balodabazar-Bhatapara, Mahasamund, Janjgir-Champa, Gariaband, Dhamtari, Kanker. After this, the Nyaya Rath Yatra will start in the rest of the districts of the state. It will start from Durg district. Under this campaign, free legal aid will also be given to women.
  • Each Mahtari Nyaya Rath will also have 2 advocates, who will listen to the problems of women and give them information and advice. Women will also be able to apply through the Nyaya Rath. The applications received will be disposed of by the Women's Commission.
  • The chariot will feature nationally awarded short films related to various laws of Chhattisgarhi and Hindi language in large LED screens.
  • The Mahtari Nyaya Rath will be operated with DMF funds. For this, the state government has made special changes in the DMF policy.
  • Dr. Kiranmayi Nayak, Chairperson, State Commission for Women said that the Chief Minister's Mahtari Nyaya Rath has been launched to make all the educated, uneducated, housewives, working women aware about the work of the Women's Commission and the laws, rules and rights made for women.
  • Through the Mahtari Nyay Rath, it will be told how women can apply to the Women's Commission to solve their problems and get free and speedy justice. Even before this, the Women's Commission has released the WhatsApp number 9098382225, through which women are registering their complaints with the Commission.
  • Dr Kiranmayi Nayak said that the scheme will be the first of its kind in the country. This will make women aware and increase their confidence. The knowledge of legal rights to women will reduce crimes against women in the state.
