Maximum Purchase of Cow Urine in Janjgir-Champa District in the State
Why In News?
- According to the information received from the Agriculture Department on November 9, 2022, under the ambitious 'Godhan Nyay Yojana' run by the state government, Janjgir-Champa district has so far purchased maximum cow urine in the state.

- According to the information received from the Agriculture Department, Janjgir-Champa district is at the first place in the state with the purchase of 9 thousand 2 hundred 28 liters of cow urine.
- It is worth noting that as per the wishes of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, the ambitious 'Godhan Nyay Yojana' is being operated by the state government, due to which farmers, livestock farmers and self-help groups associated with the scheme are benefiting financially.
- Under the direction of Collector Taran Prakash Sinha, better implementation of 'Godhan Nyay Yojana' is being done in Janjgir-Champa district. In the district, Brahmastra (pesticide) and Jeevamrut (growth enhancer) products are being prepared from cow urine for pest control and growth, due to which the farmers of the district are getting benefited more and more. As a result of this, maximum cow urine has been procured in Janjgir-Champa district so far in the state.
- At present 106 farmers in the district are taking advantage of products made from cow urine, Jeevamrut and Brahmastra, due to which the farmers of the district are getting rid of the costly chemical pesticides and they are getting benefited by using bio-pesticides.
- According to the information received from the Agriculture Department, till now 7 thousand 216 liters of cow urine has been purchased at the rate of Rs 4 per liter in Tilai Gothan of Akaltara and Khokhra Gothan of Nawagarh block of Janjgir-Champa district and Brahmastra is a product made from cow urine. It has been used in the fields of 106 farmers.
- Women of Aarti self-help group of Tilai Gothan of Akaltara block are making Jeevamrut and Brahmastra from cow urine. Women have made 200 liters of Jeevamrut and 9 hundred 11 liters of Brahmastra and sold 8 64 liters of products here. Similarly, women of Sagar Self-Help Group in Khokhra Gothan of Nawagarh block have so far made 9 hundred 74 liters of Brahmastra and 400 liters of Jeevamrut from cow urine and sold it.
- Farmers using Brahmastra and Jeevamrut products said that spraying of bio-pesticide Brahmast for pest control in paddy crop has resulted in effective control of pests and their crop health is very good.
- The farmers told that the growth of plants and the number of Kanso is more in comparison to other years due to Brahmastra and Jeevamrut. This has resulted in reduction of cost of production due to avoidance of side effects of chemical fertilizers and improvement of soil health as well as increase in the biomass in the land, and there is a good possibility of increasing stable production along with good crop health.
