First PM Mitra Park in Dhar
Why in News?
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate a textile park in Madhya Pradesh's Dhar district on 17th September 2025 under the PM MITRA Yojana.
PM Mitra Yojana
- About:
- The PM Mega Integrated Textile Region and Apparel Park (MITRA) scheme was launched by the Ministry of Textiles in the year 2021 to strengthen the Indian textile industry.
- The Centre has chosen sites in Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh for setting up textile parks under the PM MITRA scheme.
- These new textile parks are planned to be established by the year 2026-27.
- Each MITRA Park will have an incubation centre, a common processing house and a common effluent treatment plant, and other textile-related facilities such as design centres and testing centres.
- Implementation:
- Special Purpose Vehicle(SPV): PM MITRA Park will be developed by a Special Purpose Vehicle, which will be owned by the Central and State Governments, and in a Public Private Partnership (PPP) Mode.
- Development Capital Support: The Ministry of Textiles will provide financial support in the form of Development Capital Support up to Rs 500 crore per park to the park SPV.
- Competitive Incentive Support (CIS): A CIS of up to Rs 300 crore per park to the units in PM MITRA Park shall also be provided to incentivise speedy implementation.
- Convergence with other Schemes: Convergence with other Government of India schemes shall also be facilitated in order to ensure additional incentives to the Master Developer and investor units.
