Neeru Singh Giani Nominated Director in MDL

Why in News

On January 1, 2022, Niru Singh Giani of Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh has been nominated as Director in Mazagon Dock Limited (MDL).

Key Points

• Along with Niru Singh Giani, Hyderabad's Mallikarjuna Rao and Gujarat's Sambhu Prasad Tundiya have also been appointed in the MDL.
• It is noteworthy that MDL Company is a Public Sector Undertaking of the Ministry of Security, Government of India, which manufactures ships and submarines.
• Presently Neeru Singh Giani is working as the Director of Punjabi Sahitya Akademi, Madhya Pradesh Sanskriti Parishad. Along with the director, she will also look after the work of MDL.
• He took charge after reaching MDL office in Mumbai and attended the meeting as the first director. He will participate from time to time in the meetings of the Boards of Directors organized by (MDL). His term will be for three years.

Adopt an Anganwadi-Program

Why in News

On January 1, 2022, the 'Adopt an Anganwadi' program was started in Madhya Pradesh with the objective of increasing community participation in strengthening Anganwadi centers.

Key Points

• To adopt Anganwadi centers in the program, public representatives, government employees, social workers, social organizations, non-government organizations, industrial institutions and other organizations can cooperate in activities like infrastructure, Anganwadi operation, nutrition improvement etc.
• For adopting Anganwadi centers, assistance will be provided to the District Collector at the district level. The amount will be accepted in the form of check or bank draft only.
