Why in News?
The Government of Uttar Pradesh is set to roll out the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Employment and Industrial Zone Programme to promote employment-linked industrial development in the state.
Key Points
- Primary objective: To create employment opportunities, facilitate industrial development, and link training, placement, and entrepreneurship within the same infrastructure.
- Integrated infrastructure model: Zones will house industrial units, training centres, employment offices, One District One Product (ODOP) display zones, banking facilities, and service centres at one location.
- Implementation model: Plug-and-play industrial zone model to enable faster setup of MSME manufacturing and service units.
- Employment model: One-stop hub connecting trained manpower with industrial demand.
- Skill development focus: Emphasis on skill upgradation, vocational training, job fairs, and entrepreneurship development within the zones.
- Nodal coordination: State government departments in convergence with MSME and Skill Development agencies.
- Convergence with state schemes: Implementation will be aligned with ODOP, MSME promotion policies, and Skill Development Mission of Uttar Pradesh.
