'Rustamji Award'

Why in News?

  • On July 7, 2022, the Home Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Dr. Narottam Mishra said that the state government has decided to re-confer the 'Rustamji Award' to the outstanding officers and employees of the state.

Key Points

  • The Home Minister informed that 61 police personnel of the state will be given this award in three categories, which will include prize money ranging from Rs 50,000 to Rs 5 lakh.
  • The award will be given to officers and employees of the Police Department who have done excellent work in anti-Naxal operations, anti-terrorist activities, communal tension and serious law and order situations.
  • Certificates will also be given along with 5 awards of Rs 5 lakh each in the 'Param Vishesh' category, 6 awards in the 'Ati Vishisht' category of Rs 2 lakh each and 50 prizes of Rs 50,000 each in the 'Vishisht' category.
  • It is noteworthy that the Rustamji Award was closed in the state for two years. There are three categories under this award. In this, cash prizes and certificates are given for the 'Param Vishisht', 'Ati Vishisht' and 'Vishisht' category.
