Paradip Port Authority (PPA) has been conferred the First Prize at the Swachhata Pakhwada Awards 2025, instituted by the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways (MoPSW).

- Purpose of Award: It was given for exemplary performance in cleanliness, sustainability and community participation during Swachhata Pakhwada 2025 and Swachhata Hi Sewa 2025.
- Award Presentation: The award was presented by Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal.
- Recipient: P. L. Haranadh, IRTS, Chairman of Paradip Port Authority, received the honour on behalf of the port team.
- Cleanliness Initiatives:
- Jan Bhagidari: Large‑scale public participation was ensured through cleanliness drives across schools, heritage sites, temples, beaches, ponds and port premises.
- Plantation Drive: Under Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam 2.0, 40,000 saplings were planted at Paradip Sea Beach, emphasising environmental protection.
- Safai Mitra Welfare: The Safai Mitra Suraksha pillar focused on the welfare, safety and dignity of sanitation workers, including medical check‑ups and felicitation initiatives.
- Anti‑Plastic and Awareness Campaigns: PPA conducted awareness campaigns against single‑use plastics using street theatre, rallies and cotton bag drives under the theme End Plastic Pollution.
- Significance: The award reflects the port’s strong commitment to Swachh Bharat Abhiyan goals, environmental stewardship, sustainable growth, and inclusive development.
