On November 10, 2021, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar during his visit to Gurugram announced that this year's National Fencing Competition will be organized in Sonipat, Haryana.

- The Chief Minister also launched the competition's mascot 'Shyamu' along with 'Moto' on the occasion.
- The competition will be held from 25 to 28 December 2021.
- Haryana's name has developed as a sports hub due to the consistent performance of the players of Haryana at the national and international level and the sports policy of the Haryana government. As a result of this, Haryana has got the opportunity to organize Khelo India Youth Games this time and now the National Fencing Competition will also be organized in Haryana.
