Why in News?
- Recently, NRI cell has been formed by the Government of Chhattisgarh to unite the non-resident Indians of Chhattisgarh residing in different countries and to preserve the art, culture and literature of the state.

- Indian-origin Korba resident Pallav Shah has been nominated as the coordinator of the NRI cell. He is currently residing in Boston (MA), USA.
- Along with preserving Chhattisgarhi art-culture and literature through NRI cell, its wide publicity and to maintain lively contact with non-resident Indians and to receive suggestions and information from such non-resident Indians for the progress of the state and their implementation.
