Uttarakhand Govt and ITBP Launch Healthy Border Campaign

Why in News? 

The Uttarakhand government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indo‑Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) to launch the Healthy Border Campaign (Swasth Seema Abhiyan). 

Key Points 

• Objective: To provide integrated primary healthcare services to residents of remote and border villages in Uttarakhand. 
  • Coverage: 108 border villages in the districts of Pithoragarh, Chamoli, and Uttarkashi.  
• Significance: Addresses healthcare access gaps in difficult‑to‑reach frontier areas. 
  •  Enhances quality of life, trust, security, and stability in frontier communities. 
• Components: Includes primary health services, telemedicine, mobile medical visits, and emergency support. 
  • ITBP personnel will provide qualified doctors and paramedical staff for regular village outreach. 
• Integrated Support: Health records, equipment, medicines and consumables will be managed jointly. 
• Significance: Enhances healthcare access, community welfare, and border area resilience. 
  • Promotes civil-military partnership, national security, and inclusive frontier development.
