Why In News?
According to the information received from the media on November 26, 2023, investment proposals worth about Rs 18 thousand crore have been approved by the Uttarakhand government till the month of November in the financial year 2023-24.
Key Points:
- The maximum investment in this proposal is for Dehradun, Haridwar, Nainital and Udham Singh Nagar districts. Apart from this, approval has also been given to investors in hilly areas.
- This investment will provide employment to about 26 thousand people.
- The state government has implemented a single window system for obtaining permission from various departments for industrial investment proposals in the state.
- MoUs have been signed on investment proposals worth Rs 2 lakh crore in the road show for the Global Investors Conference to be held in Dehradun on December 8 and 9, 2023, while the state government has set an investment target of Rs 2.50 lakh crore for the conference.
