Why In News?
On April 15, 2022, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren inaugurated the Under-17 Sub Junior National Boys-Girls Wrestling Competition and Federation Cup Senior Men-Women Wrestling Competition at Shaheed Ganpat Rai Indoor Stadium Khelgaon Ranchi.
Key Points
- On this occasion, the Chief Minister honored the wrestlers of Jharkhand, who won medals in the Under-15 National Boys and Girls Wrestling Competition held in December last year, by giving them clothes and citations.
- These competitions are being organized under the aegis of Jharkhand State Wrestling Federation.
- The Federation Cup is being organized for the first time in Jharkhand. The Under-17 Sub Junior Boys-Girls National Wrestling Competition is being organized from April 15 to 19 at Mega Sports Complex, Hotwar, Ranchi, while the Federation Senior Wrestling Competition is being organized from April 17 to 19.
- A total of more than 1200 wrestlers are participating in the national wrestling competition. 450 wrestlers are participating in the Federation Cup Senior Wrestling competition, while 850 wrestlers from different age group categories are participating in the sub-junior wrestling competition under-17 age group.
