Two Vice Chancellors Honored with Honorary Degrees of Colonel

- On March 7, 2022, the Governor of Jharkhand, Ramesh Bais honored Dr. Mukul Narayan Dev, Vice Chancellor of Vinoba Bhave University and Dr. Sonjharia Minj, Vice Chancellor of Sidho Kanhu Murmu University, with honorary degrees of Colonel at Raj Bhavan.

- Along with this, both the Vice Chancellors were appointed as Colonel Commandants for NCC Officers and Cadets under their respective Universities.
- It is to be noted that only those Vice Chancellors selected from the Ministry of Defence, Government of India are given the title of Honorary Colonel, who have made special contribution in their university for the expansion and upliftment of NCC.
- These Vice Chancellors did the work of encouraging NCC cadets in their university. In view of these works, on the recommendation of the Director General of NCC, the Government of India decided to confer on him the honorary title of Colonel.
- The cadets of the Air Force and Naval wing of NCC also displayed several aircraft and aircraft models in the ceremony.
