The Government of India, organised a Regional Workshop on Consumer Protection in Patna, Bihar for the  Eastern States of India.

  • Objective of the Workshop: The focus was on speedy disposal of consumer cases, effective execution of commission orders, and adoption of technology-driven grievance redressal.

    • Toll-free number 1915 and online portal for complaint registration. 
    • Multi-lingual support to ensure wider accessibility. 
    • Enabling digital tracking, faster response, and analytics-based monitoring. 
  • E-Jagriti : E-Jagriti integrates e-Daakhil, video conferencing, real-time dashboards and AI tools to streamline case management and reduce procedural delays. 
  • Protection in Digital Markets: The workshop addressed challenges of dark patterns and misleading online practices, stressing the need for strong consumer safeguards in e-commerce. 
  • Outcome: The event concluded with consensus on building a transparent, efficient, and technology-enabled consumer protection framework for Eastern India.
