- Recently, Rachit Raj of Bihar, who has been appointed in the secret branch of Superintendent of Police of Kaimur District (Bihar), has become the first transman constable of the country.
- Rachit Raj is a 2018 batch constable of Bihar Police.
- In 2014, in the National Legal Services Authority vs Union of India case, the Supreme Court recognized transgender people as the third gender.
- The Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Act, 2019 prohibits discrimination against transgender persons, including denial of service or unfair treatment in relation to education, employment, healthcare. In such a situation, the appointment of Rachit Raj is an important step towards the empowerment of transgender persons.
