Why in News?
- On June 5, 2022, President Ram Nath Kovind inaugurated the Sant Kabir Academy and Research Centre and Swadesh Darshan Yojana at Maghar in Sant Kabir Nagar district of Uttar Pradesh.
Key Points
- President Ram Nath Kovind is the second President to arrive at Maghar in Sant Kabir Nagar, before missile man A. P. J. Abdul Kalam came here as president.
- It may be mentioned that Swadesh Darshan Yojana is a Central Sector Scheme launched by the Ministry of Tourism and Culture, Government of India in the year 2014-15 with the objective of integrated development of thematic tourism circuit.
- The objective of the scheme is to promote, develop and exploit the potential of tourism in India.
- Under the Swadesh Darshan Scheme, the Ministry of Tourism provides Central Financial Assistance (CFA) to the State Governments, Union Territory Administrations for development of circuit infrastructure.
