- Recently, the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL) has given recognition to the water testing laboratory operating in Mahasamund district of Chhattisgarh.

- After getting the recognition by NABL, now the common citizens of the district can get the water tested, which will improve accuracy in the water test results.
- It is worth noting that this is the 10th NABL accredited water testing laboratory of Chhattisgarh.
- NABL is an autonomous body under the Department of Science and Technology (DST), of Government of India and registered under the 'Societies Registration Act, 1980'.
- The Government of India has authorized NABL as the sole accreditation body of Testing and Calibration Laboratories.
