Union Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia inaugurated the country’s first Samriddhi Centre at Umri village in Guna district, Madhya Pradesh, an integrated rural service hub aimed at bridging gaps in service delivery and enhancing digital access for villagers.
Key Points:
- Integrated Service Hub: The Samriddhi Centre brings together essential services such as healthcare, education, banking, agriculture support, and other citizen-centric services under one roof, enabling villagers to access multiple facilities at a single location.
- The centre is part of the Samriddh Gram Phygital Services Pilot Project, which combines physical infrastructure with digital technologies to deliver seamless services in rural areas.
- Digital Empowerment: Equipped with digital infrastructure, the centre aims to strengthen rural-urban connectivity and promote digital inclusion by facilitating access to online services for residents of Umri and nearby villages.
- Villagers can access telemedicine and health consultations, digital banking and financial inclusion services, skill development and education resources, agricultural advisories, and e-governance services.
- Technology Integration: The Samriddhi Centre also showcases advanced technologies such as virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), digital classrooms, and connected computer labs to improve learning and information dissemination.
- Model: The pilot centre could serve as a scalable model for similar integrated service hubs in other rural regions, aimed at improving livelihoods and quality of life.
- Impact: The initiative is designed to reduce the need for villagers to travel to towns for routine services, thereby saving time and costs while expanding access to essential facilities right within the community.
