Inauguration of Mega Skill and Employment Fair

- On December 28, 2021, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, Higher Education Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat and Parliamentary Affairs, Urban Development Minister Banshidhar Bhagat jointly launched the Vridha Kaushal and Sewayojan Rozgar Mela in Haldwani. On this occasion, Chief Minister Dhami also distributed appointment letters to 42 youths and women.

- At the fair, Chief Minister Dhami said that employment fairs are being organized continuously by the government in the districts of the entire state. These fairs are providing employment opportunities to the youth. Unemployed youth of the state can register for the employment fair sitting at home.
- Chief Minister Dhami said that the main objective of the government is to increase self-employment along with employment. He said that 3700 homestays are registered in the state, under which 8000 youth and girls are getting self-employment.
- He said that work is being done to fill up the departments where the posts are vacant. The government has made a provision to increase the amount up to Rs 25 lakh in the Veer Chandra Garhwali Yojana for self-employment as well as employment, and work is being done to increase subsidy in homestays.
- He said that the government has increased the age limit for government jobs by one year and the applicant will not have to pay any fee for filling the application fee of the examination form in the state, as well as the preparation of IAS, PCS, MBBS, Public Service Commission. The children who pre-qualify for this purpose are being given 50 thousand rupees by the government for further preparations.
