Critical Care Units will open in 74 Districts of Uttar Pradesh

Why in News?

On July 26, 2023, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath told at his official residence in the presence of Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya that critical units will be set up in 74 districts in the direction of fulfilling the resolution of 'one district, one medical college' in the state. .

key points:

  • It is known that government medical colleges are functional in 45 districts of the state. Medical colleges are going to be started soon in 13 districts of the state.
  • The Chief Minister said that there is a need to strengthen the Community Health Centre. Every medical college should adopt a minimum of five community health centres. Doctors should visit there at regular intervals and guide the doctors of the centre.
  • Under the Pradhan Mantri Ayushman Health Infrastructure Scheme, a critical care block of 100 or 50 beds will be set up in a district-level hospital or medical college for the treatment of serious diseases in each district.
  • Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said that Tamil Nadu is such a state, where 11 medical colleges were dedicated in a single day. Now Uttar Pradesh will create a new record with the inauguration of 13 medical colleges.
  • It is worth mentioning that after independence only five B.Sc Nursing colleges were operating in the state sector till now. In the year 2021-22, seven and in 2022-23, 11 new government nursing colleges were made operational.
  • With the help of the Government of India, 27 new nursing colleges are going to be established here very soon. With this, a huge opportunity will be created for the youth who want to make a career in the nursing and paramedical sector of the state.
  • The Union Health Minister said that the Government of India is starting the 'Ayushman Bhava' campaign from September. Under this there will be the 'Aapke Dwar Ayushman 3.0' program.
  • Ayushman cards will be made door-to-door in the program. 'Ayushman Sabha' will be organized in villages, cities and schools. In this way, the village which will be fully saturated will be declared as 'Ayushman Gram'.
  • Instructing the state to make all necessary efforts for the success of the proposed 'Ayushman Bhava' campaign, the Chief Minister expressed confidence that Uttar Pradesh would be the state with maximum 'Ayushman Gram'.
  • Under Ayushman Bharat, now the benefits of the scheme will be given to the beneficiaries on the basis of the verified data provided by the Government of Uttar Pradesh. Ayushman Bharat cards will be made available to all the families whose data will be verified by the state government.
  • The Union Health and Family Welfare Minister said that the Government of India has sanctioned Rs 16.81 crore for the establishment of a Trauma Center in Chandauli. On the other hand, Rs 215.62 crore has been sanctioned for setting up a Multi Super Specialty Hospital in Shri Shiv Prasad Gupta Divisional and District Hospital in Varanasi.
