Chhattisgarh Launched Atal Arogya Lab

Why in News? 

The Chief Minister of ChhattisgarhVishnu Deo Sai, inaugurated the Atal Arogya Lab in the Bastar region to expand free diagnostic healthcare services, particularly in remote and previously Naxal-affected areas. 

Key Points 

  • Launch: The Atal Arogya Lab was inaugurated at Sukma in the Bastar region, marking a major step toward strengthening healthcare infrastructure in rural and tribal areas. 
    • Under the programme, 133 types of diagnostic tests will be provided free of cost to citizens across government healthcare facilities. 
  • Partner: The programme is being implemented with support from HLL Lifecare Limited. 
  • Objective: The main aim is to improve early disease detection, faster treatment, and equitable access to healthcare, especially in remote and underserved regions of the state.  
  • Coverage: The initiative will operate in 1,046 government health institutions, including District Hospitals, Community Health Centres (CHCs), and Primary Health Centres (PHCs) across the state. 
    • The scheme incorporates a fully digital framework, where diagnostic reports are sent directly to patients through SMS and WhatsApp.
