Cabinet Approved 4‑Lane Expansion of NH‑752D in Madhya Pradesh

Why in News?
The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA), chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved the construction of a 4‑lane section of NH‑752D covering the Badnawar–Petlawad–Thandla–Timarwani stretch in Madhya Pradesh on a Hybrid Annuity Mode.
Key Points:
- Length & Cost: The upgraded highway stretch will have a length of about 80.45 km and an estimated capital cost of ₹3,839.42 crore.
- The project will be executed on a Hybrid Annuity Mode, under which the government and the developer share project costs and risks, ensuring timely completion and maintenance.
- Connectivity: The corridor will enhance connectivity between Ujjain and the Timrawani interchange on the Delhi–Mumbai Expressway, facilitating smoother traffic and faster movement of goods and passengers.
- Strategic Importance: The expansion is expected to boost regional economic activity, improve logistics efficiency, and attract investment by providing better access to markets and industrial areas in western and central India.
