- Agnipath Scheme:
- Launched in June 2022, the Agnipath Scheme is a short-term recruitment policy for the Armed Forces.
- Candidates aged 17.5–21 years are enrolled as Agniveers for 4 years, with up to 25% absorbed into the permanent cadre.
- Agniveers undergo basic and specialised military training, along with up-skilling courses.
- On exit, they receive a tax-free Seva Nidhi package, providing financial support for future careers.
- Each Agniveer is covered under a ₹48 lakh life insurance policy during service.
