According to information received from the media on June 20, 2023, 17491 cooperative societies have been abolished in Bihar, leaving 25487 co-operative societies in the state.

Key Points:

There is not a single women's welfare committee in Darbhanga and Siwan. Purnea has the highest number of women's welfare committees at 145. There is not a single jute committee in the state.
  • Apart from these, there are no transport committees in any district of the state except East Champaran, Jamui, Katihar, Lakhisarai, Nalanda, Patna, Rohtas, Saharsa, Sitamarhi, Vaishali and West Champaran.
  • There is no tourism committee anywhere in the state except Patna. There are five tourism committees in Patna.
