    • Formation: The Peninsular Plateau was formed from the breakup of the Gondwana land, making it one of India’s oldest landmasses. 
    • Composition: It is primarily composed of ancient crystalline, igneous, and metamorphic rocks.
    • Divisions: 
      • Central Highlands: Located north of the Narmada River, covering regions like the Malwa Plateau. 
      • Deccan Plateau: A triangular landmass situated south of the Narmada River.
