    National Centre for Polar and Ocean Research (NCPOR), Goa The National Centre for Polar and Ocean Research (NCPOR), established in 1998 in Goa under the Ministry of Earth Sciences, coordinates India’s Antarctic and Arctic research. It maintains the Maitri and Bharati stations in Antarctica, Himadri in the Arctic, and Himansh in the Himalayas, supporting multidisciplinary scientific research and doctoral studies.

    Shyok Tunnel The Shyok Tunnel is a 920-metre-long cut-and-cover tunnel constructed at an altitude of over 12,000 feet on the Darbuk–Shyok–Daulat Beg Oldie road. It bypasses an avalanche- and landslide-prone stretch, ensuring uninterrupted logistics and troop movement in the eastern Ladakh sector, especially significant after the 2020 Galwan Valley clashes.

    Adichanallur Adichanallur, located in Thoothukudi district, Tamil Nadu, is one of India’s largest Iron-Age urn burial sites. Excavations by the Archaeological Survey of India have revealed pottery, iron tools, bronze vessels, gold ornaments, beads, and skeletal remains, providing significant insight into early Tamil funerary practices described in Sangam literature.
