Iran and P5+1 to implement nuclear deal from Jan 20
Jan 13, 2014

Iran and P5+1 nation have agreed to implement the interim nuclear deal from January 20. The deal has eased some financial sanctions in exchange for Iran rolling back parts of its nuclear program.

Under this interim accord, Iran agrees to limit its uranium enrichment to five percent, which is the grade commonly used to power nuclear reactors. That's a big drop from Iran's current production of 20 percent enriched uranium, which is only a technical step away from weapons-grade use. Iran will also grant IAEA access to its nuclear facilities and its centrifuge production lines.

During the meet all the nations have laid down concrete steps to put in place the deal aimed at placing curbs on Teheran’s nuclear programme.

The agreement to implement the interim nuclear deal follows intensive talks in Geneva between negotiators from Iran, EU and US. Western powers suspect Iran has been trying to develop the ability to manufacture nuclear weapons. Iran says its program is aimed purely at generating electricity and fueling civilian atomic research.
