The Union Public Service Commission Civil Services Examination (UPSC CSE) is one of the most prestigious and challenging exams in India. It is often regarded as the gold standard for recruitment to India’s higher civil services. Established under Article 315 of the Indian Constitution, the UPSC is an independent constitutional body tasked with conducting various examinations, with the CSE being its most prominent. It serves as the gateway to some of the most respected positions in the government, including the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), and other Group A and Group B central services. To secure these coveted positions, candidates must appear for the UPSC CSE and pass a three-phase selection process: the Preliminary Examination (Prelims), the Main Examination (Mains), and the Personality Test (Interview).
