The Construction Work of Lav-Kush Vatika

Why in News?

• On June 21, 2022, Principal Secretary, Rajasthan Forest Department, Shikhar Agrawal informed that the construction work of Lav-Kush Vatikas to be constructed at a cost of about Rs. 2 crore each in each district of the state would be started from July 1, 2022.

Key Points

• The purpose of construction of these gardens is to educate and make the public aware about environment conservation and to promote forest experience in them.
• Agarwal informed that these gardens will be planted with local environment and eco-friendly local flora like fruits, flowers, medicinal and shady trees and plants so that people can get the local forest experience there.
• On the other hand, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, Forest Force Chief Dr. D.N. Pandey directed the District Deputy Conservator of Forests about the structure and shape of the construction of Lav-Kush Vatikas and said that maximum natural materials should be used in their construction, so that people can feel the nature. Prove to be a gardener.

Madhya Pradesh Honored in IDSP's National Review Meeting

Why in News?

• On June 21, 2022, Madhya Pradesh was honoured at the national level for its outstanding work in Integrated Disease Surveillance Program (IDSP) and IHIP (Integrated Health Information Platform) for the purpose of control and prevention by obtaining immediate information about infectious diseases under it.

Key Points

• At the national review meeting of IDSP held in New Delhi, Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan met the Deputy Director of IDSP, Dr. Yogesh Kaurav and Dr. M. P. s. He presented a letter of honour to Chauhan.
• It is worth mentioning that Madhya Pradesh is the first state in the country to achieve the target of completely paperless on October 1, 2021 in the first phase of the IHIP programme.
• In the meeting, IHIP Joint Director Dr. Himanshu Chauhan said that Madhya Pradesh has been successful in making the entire information related to the detection, prevention and prevention of infectious diseases under IDSP paperless in the first phase in IHIP.
• He also asked other States to follow Madhya Pradesh to become paperless in IHIPs.

Aravalli Tunnel

Why in News?

• Additional Chief General Manager of the recently dedicated freight corridor, Y. P. Sharma said that by December 2022, the operation of trains in the Aravali tunnel will start.

Key Points

• The Aravali Tunnel is the world's first tunnel built under the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor, through which two trains can be evacuated simultaneously.
• The tunnel, constructed in Nuh district of Haryana, is part of the Dadri-Rewari block of the corridor.
• Construction of this tunnel, constructed at a cost of Rs.800 crore, started in November, 2019 and has been completed in July, 2021.
• The tunnel also features operation of double decker trains with overhead electric equipment.

Mayor Election in Jharkhand

Why in News?

• On June 21, 2022, in the meeting of the state cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Hemant Soren, the proposal of the Urban Development Department was approved, under which the election of the mayor in Jharkhand would be on the basis of non-party, not on the basis of party.

Key Points

• In the meeting, the state cabinet approved 43 proposals. However, due to the model code of conduct in force in view of the Mandar by-election, there was no press conference on the decisions of the Cabinet.
• But sources said that the most important proposal has come from the Urban Development Department, which has been approved. At the same time, there will be no election of deputy mayor, but the councillors of the municipal corporation and municipal bodies will together elect the deputy mayor. The approval of the cabinet has been received on the rules brought in this regard.
• In the meeting, the police appointment rules were also amended, under which now the candidates will have to complete the race first, then only they will have a written test.

Professional Boxing Event in Chhattisgarh

Why in News?

• According to a press release issued by the public relations department of the state government on June 21, 2022, professional boxing with an event titled 'Rumble in the Jungle' in collaboration with the Chhattisgarh government will be held for the first time in Raipur.

Key Points

• The pro-boxing event will be held at Balbir Singh Juneja indoor stadium, Raipur in august, with Olympic medalist Vijender Singh's bout (headline bout) along with other international professional boxers' bouts.
• Significantly, Vijender Singh met Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on June 8 and discussed the possibilities of promoting boxing in Chhattisgarh and urged him to organize a professional boxing event in Chhattisgarh, to which the Chief Minister had agreed.
• Vijender Singh is the first Indian boxer to win an Olympic bronze medal in the year 2008. Vijender Singh, who became a professional boxer in the year 2015, has won 12 matches including 8 knockouts. 'Rumble in the Jungle' will be his sixth match in India during his professional boxing career.
• The event will be organized by Purple Got Sportion LLP.

Kawardha District Hospital got National Quality Assurance Certificate

Why in News?

• Recently, the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has awarded National Quality Assurance Certificate (NQAS) to Kabirdham District Hospital of Chhattisgarh for providing better treatment and excellent health facilities to the patients.

Key Points

• With this, Kabirdham has become the 10th district of the state to get the National Quality Certificate. Nine district hospitals of the state - Korba, Jashpur, Raipur, Kanker, Mahasamund, Balodabazar, Mungeli, Narayanpur and Bijapur have already been awarded this certificate by the Government of India.
• After inspection of 12 different departments of Kawardha District Hospital by the team of Union Health Ministry, the health facilities were found to be in conformity with the national standards. The team inspected OPD, Labor Room, Maternity Ward, Pediatric Ward, SNCU, NRC, Operation Theatre, PP Unit, IPD, Blood Bank, Laboratory and General Administration Department there in the last May.
• Under the National Health Mission, Chhattisgarh, the process of internal and state level assessment, service delivery audit and patient satisfaction survey of the institution is done after regular training of health workers to provide excellent health service in the state hospitals and provide better treatment to the patients.
• It is worth mentioning that before awarding the National Quality Assurance Standard certificate, the services and satisfaction level of the district hospital are tested on several parameters by a team of experts from the Union Health Ministry. Only hospitals that meet these stringent standards are issued quality certificates by the Government of India.

17th Meeting of Uttarakhand Wildlife Board

Why in News?

• On June 21, 2022, under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, the 17th meeting of the Uttarakhand Wildlife Board was held in the Veer Chandra Singh Garhwali Auditorium, Secretariat.

Key Points

• It was decided in the meeting that Center of Excellence in Human-Wildlife Conflict Mitigation and Center for Excellence in Wildlife Health would be established in the state.
• Guidelines will be made regarding the behaviour of tourists in tiger reserves, protected areas and other tourist forest areas.
• Primary Response Teams (PRTs) will be formed at the village level by the state government to protect wildlife as well as prevent forest fires.
