Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) – Pattern | 24 Feb 2025
The Jharkhand Combined Civil Services Examination is conducted by the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC). The examination comprises of two successive stages:
- Combined Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination (Objective Type) for the selection of candidates for the Main (Written) Examination; and
- Combined Civil Services (Main) Examination (Written and Interview) for selecting candidates for the various services and posts.
The detailed pattern of the exam is given below.
Preliminary Exam
- Consists of Two Compulsory Papers (Qualifying in Nature): 
- General Studies – I (200 marks)
- General Studies – II (200 marks)
 
- Duration: Each paper is of 2 hours.
- Language: Hindi and English
- Marking Scheme: 
- There is no negative marking for incorrect answers.
- If a candidate marks more than one answer for a question, it will be treated as a wrong answer, even if one of the answers is correct, and no marks will be awarded.
 
Evaluation and Selection:
- The selection list for the Main (Written) Examination is prepared based on the total marks obtained in both papers.
Main Examination & Interview
- The Written Examination consists of 6 papers in total.

- The selection list for the Interview Test will be prepared based on the total marks obtained in Papers II to VI (a total of 5 papers), subject to the following conditions: 
- Candidates must score a minimum of 30 marks in Paper I.
- Candidates must achieve the minimum qualifying marks in aggregate, as prescribed by the rules of the Jharkhand Combined Civil Services Examination, in the remaining 5 papers (Papers II to VI).
 
- The Interview Test will carry 100 marks, and there will be no minimum qualifying marks required for the interview.
