On November 15, 2021, Sowjanya, Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Uttarakhand flagged off a voter awareness van from the state secretariat with the aim of encouraging women and youth to register in the voter lists.

CEO Sowjanya said that in view of the upcoming assembly elections, a special revision program of voter lists is going on at present and these vans will create awareness about this program.
He said that one van each has been pressed into service in Garhwal and Kumaon divisions. These vans will cover different areas of Garhwal and Kumaon divisions from November 15 to 22.
He said that a team of artistes would accompany the van and they would create awareness through street plays. The van will also have sweep material and a public address system.
