Why in News?  

The Haryana Police has launched a 16-day state-wide operation (5th - 20th November, 2025) titled ‘Operation Trackdown’, to identify, pursue, and arrest fugitives involved in recent shooting incidents and organised crimes.  

Key Points 

• To apprehend absconding offenders in gun-related and organised crimes and strengthen accountability within police ranks from Station House Officers (SHOs) to senior district and zonal officers. 
• The Haryana Police is collaborating with neighbouring states of Punjab, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, J&K, and Union Territories of Delhi and Chandigarh for cross-border surveillance and custody transfers.
