Why In News?

On December 16, 2022 the Bihar government has issued a new guideline regarding the distribution of medicines in government hospitals. According to the new rule, now patients undergoing treatment in government hospitals will get 611 types of medicines free of cost.

• After the emergence of new diseases, the government has issued a new guideline for the distribution of medicines in government hospitals. Under this, patients will no longer have to buy medicines from private shops.
• In the new resolution issued by the government, it has been decided to distribute a total of 611 types of medicines in OPD and IPD in hospitals from medical college to district hospital and health sub-center.
