Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated India’s first Digital Museum of Tribal Freedom Fighters at Nava Raipur, Atal Nagar (Chhattisgarh) on 1st November 2025, on the occasion of Chhattisgarh’s Foundation Day. The museum celebrates the courage, sacrifices, and legacy of tribal warriors who resisted British colonial rule.

    • He led a revolt against British grain hoarding during a famine in 1856–57, mobilizing peasants and Adivasis against colonial exploitation.
    • Captured and executed in 1857, he became a symbol of tribal resistance and self-rule in Central India.
    • The Veer Narayan Singh Stadium in Raipur is also named after him.
