Why in News?

Recently, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in the 162nd birth anniversary celebrations of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore and performed Bhoomi Pujan for the first campus of Visva Bharati University.

Key Points

• This university is being built in Ramgarh of Nainital district. It is noteworthy that Tagore Hill is situated on Ramgarh hill.
• On this occasion, the Chief Minister said that Guru Rabindranath Tagore had indelible the name of Ramgarh in the world map by writing literature after coming here years ago.
• To build this university, the Chief Minister donated 45 acres of land to a trust named 'Shanti Niketan Trust for Himalaya'.
