Why in News?

On May 26, 2022, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel inaugurated Chhattisgarh's first FIFA approved synthetic football ground and running track at Jagdalpur.

Key Points

• FIFA has issued a certificate of international standard to the football ground at Jagdalpur Priyadarshini Indira Stadium.
• With this, the Chief Minister also dedicated 19 development works worth more than Rs.44.54 crore and laid the foundation stone of 8 development works worth more than Rs.11.88 crore at Priyadarshini Stadium.
• An MoU was signed between The Ordor Football Academy, Bhubaneshwar, Odisha, Bastar District Football Association and Bastar District Administration to make community football more popular on grass root labels in Bastar. This will enable the players of Bastar to get national level coaches.
