A two-day tribal cultural festival Adi Parab 2026 was organised in Nava Raipur, Chhattisgarh, to showcase the rich art, culture, and traditions of tribal communities from across India. 

Key Points: 

• About: Adi Parab 2026 is a cultural event aimed at promoting tribal identity, heritage, and traditional knowledge through exhibitions, performances, and interactions. 
  • The festival was held in March 2026 at the Tribal Research and Training Institute campus in Nava Raipur Atal Nagar. 
  • Around 43 tribal communities of Chhattisgarh along with participants from states such as Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, Odisha, Maharashtra, and Jharkhand took part in the event. 
• Theme: The festival was organised under the theme “From Tradition to Identity,”. 
• Objective: The event aimed to provide a national platform to tribal art, culture, traditions, and to preserve indigenous knowledge systems. 
• Cultural Diversity: The festival featured exhibitions of tribal art, handicrafts, traditional attire, cuisine, and folk performances representing diverse tribal lifestyles.  
  • Adi Paridhan: A special tribal attire show displayed traditional dresses and cultural features of various tribal groups on a single platform. 
  • Adi Rang: A tribal painting festival showcased artworks highlighting themes like nature, environment, and tribal life. 
  • Adi Haat: A tribal craft fair exhibited handicrafts, forest produce, and traditional products, promoting local artisans and livelihoods. 
• Government Initiative: The event was organised by the Tribal Research and Training Institute under the state’s Tribal Development Department with support from the Ministry of Tribal Affairs. 
• Significance: The festival promotes cultural preservation, supports tribal artisans, boosts tourism, and strengthens the socio-economic development of tribal communities.
