How to Calculate Your HCS Prelims Score
To calculate your exact marks, compare your OMR responses with the answer key above and apply the official HPSC marking scheme:
- Correct Answer: +1 Mark
- Incorrect Answer: -0.25 Marks
- Unattempted Question (Option 'E' Marked): 0 Marks
- Blank Question (No circles Marked): -0.25 Marks
- Multiple Circles Darkened: -0.25 Marks
Important Disqualification Rule: Please note that if you did not mark any of the five circles (A, B, C, D, or E) in more than 10% of the questions, your paper will be disqualified.
Note on Paper 2 (CSAT): CSAT is strictly a qualifying paper. You must score a minimum of 33% in Paper 2 for your Paper 1 (General Studies) score to be evaluated for the merit list.
What Should Your Next Step Be?
If your calculated score from Paper 1 falls comfortably within or above our expected cut-off margins, and you are clearing the CSAT paper, shift your focus entirely to the Mains examination. The window between Prelims results and Mains is historically short, making early preparation a distinct advantage.
If you are falling short this time, use this paper to identify your weak areas and adjust your strategy for the next cycle of State PCS and UPSC examinations.
Best of luck with your results and future preparation!
