Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav presented Rs.3.02 lakh crore budget for the state for 2015-16. This is 10.2 percent above the previous year's proposals.
Highlights :

The fiscal deficit has touched 2.96 percent of the total GDP of the state.

The growth recorded over the last year was 5 percent.

State’s debt is expected to be around 27.5% of its GDP.

Rs.12,000 crore has been earmarked for roads and bridges.

Rs.200 crore for removal of slums from urban areas in 21 cities.

Rs.400 crore for cleaning up of Gomti river.

Rs.1,533 crore has been done for the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.

Rs.2,776 crore for minority welfare.

Rs.3,000 crore has been allocated for the six-lane Agra-Lucknow Expressway.

Rs.425 crore has been made for the ongoing project of Lucknow Metro Rail.

Rs.587 crore for medicines.

Rs.5,840 crore for family welfare.

Rs.2,727 crore for the Samajwadi pension scheme.

Rs.100 crore for the free laptop scheme.

Rs. 25764 crores have been allocated for power upgradation and line maintenance in the state.

2015-16 has declared as the Farmers year.

1000 Agri centrs will be established to promote agriculture as a good mean of livelihood among young farmer entrepreneurs.

New schemes of over Rs. 9388 crores have been included in the budget.

For farmer’s accident insurance scheme, Rs. 600 crores has been allocated.

Allocation of Rs. 1,029 crore as revival package for the ailing state cooperative banks.
